An amazingly well preserved castle dating back to just after the Norman conquest. Good facilities and terrific views of the countryside from the castle towers.
Ludlow is superb, Castle lovely but in true rip-off British fashion you have to pay to get in! Great Park beneath castle (opposite side to town) with good park equipment for kids.
Great attraction. Look out for the themed days. We went to the medieval Christmas market. Lots to do, food to eat and drinks to be sampled. Park and ride from the racecourse, the return journey was a bit of a farce due to the amount of coaches picking up on a very small area of the road.
Privately owned castle in fair condition. Reasonably priced for a few hours it takes to have a look about. Even better if there's an event on. Good views from the ramparts. Kid and dog friendly. Reliance on town parking let's it down a little, but park for the day and do the town market and shops too.
