Lovely little tea room, great food.
RUDE! RUDE! RUDE!Two friends and myself were visiting the Christmas fayre at the castle, when we decided to call in to Carvels tea shop for some refreshments beforehand.( May I say at this point, my friend had broken her foot two weeks prior to our visit, and was using a wheelchair to get about ) Having entered the shop, the only table available was one right by the door, I tucked the wheelchair out of the way and we sat down. Unfortunately it was very cold and draughty there, so when a table at the bottom of the shop was vacated we decided to occupy it. My friend with the broken foot struggled down the steps followed by myself, we were about to sit down when I heard a waitress say something to my friends mother (who was behind us), I asked what was said, but the waitress just glared at me and said nothing, my friends mum replied, she said you are better off up there! Well Im not usually one to say nothing! but, not wanting to cause a scene, I held my tongue and beckoned to my friends to follow me and we left the shop.Luckily my friend is not permanently disabled, but to be treated in such a way is disgusting and inexcusable!Several lessons in customer service and basic manners are desperately needed in this establishment!
Rude staff, one clearing tables nearby dropped tea all the way down the back of my friends coat never apologised, then came to serve us and said it would be 40 minutes wait for order, we said we only want 4 cups of tea, reply was she it will be 40 minutes. How long does it take to poor boiling water over 4 tea bags???! When we pointed out that they had spilt tea down the back of our friends coat there was no apology . So we walked out. Went into a brilliant tearoom not far away the service was amazing unlike the art of tea .
Lovely tearoom with loads of china cups and saucers. Only had a drink but it was nice and hot as well. Service was good as well
