The food was lovley but pricy if you just wanted an orange juice and toast for two! It's a very different little place and if you like unusual, this would be a place to try.
Greeted by warm welcome. The place looks like it has been there for donkeys, but after talking to the proprietor, I've learned that they only have been operating for 5 years. Excellent place to take a blind date or a friend who does not stop talking. You can nod & odd, hmmm or oh really? (active listening) while looking around at the amazing decor. I went for the specials: Smoked mussels, anchovies & salmon pate' with a drink 15.00. Unfortunately, the waitress over charged me for my drink. I only realised after several miles from the place. I can give them the benefit of the doubt and say the talk waitress with the ripped jeans & long black hair made a genuine mistake. Or, They knew, I was passing through and over charged me, knowing I wouldn't return again for a while. We'll never know. Not sure whether to recommend or not due to being over charged.
For excellent coffee and food this is a hidden gem. Gluten free cake & biscuits. The only place to get a drink after 4pm if you don't want to give your money to Costa (which i dont)
Food was great, the service prompt and the atmosphere delightful.
Food is AMAZING. Coffee is outstanding. Only grumble (and it is a feature of the building, not something the owners can do anything about) is that due to the room being long and narrow it is not very buggy friendly and there is really nowhere to change a baby except for in the toilet on the floor. The staff are really accommodating though and will do their best to help. Highly recommend their hot chocolate. And that strawberry and lemon marmalade...dear lord.
